Project Overview:
Emmaty, Inc. was contracted to perform a roof overlayment at Building 6330, Gaffney Hall, Fort George G. Meade. The project involves installing a new single-ply modified bitumen system over the existing roof, ensuring long-term waterproofing, safety compliance, and aesthetic consistency with the existing structure. All work is managed under strict supervision and coordination with building management, following EM-385-1-1 safety protocols and federal standards.
Key Scope Highlights:

Roof System Overlay:
-Clean/prep surface and apply asphalt primer.
-Heat-weld Sopralene Flam 180 FR GR modified bitumen cap sheet.
-Overlay existing flashings (walls, curbs, drains, penetrations) with single-ply modified flashing.
-Reuse metal flashings/copings with new fasteners.
-Replace pipe stand flashings with Alsan RS liquid flashings.

Additional Scope:
-Repair/replace EPDM expansion and contraction flashing details.
-Refasten electrical panels and reinstall conduits on sleeper rails.
-Install new caulking and ensure roof drains are properly tied into the new system.
-Provide one new walkpad at the roof hatch.
-Submit Accident Prevention Plan and oversee jobsite safety.
-Provide as-built drawings of roof layout, system details, and drains.
