Project commissioned under federal contracting requirements with oversight for safety, compliance, and quality assurance.

Project Overview:

Emmaty, Inc. was tasked with replacing the wind-damaged standing seam metal screen wall at Building 810, Fort Detrick. The work includes demolition of the damaged sections and installation of new framing and panels to restore both the function and aesthetics of the screen wall system. The scope emphasizes matching the existing panel design, safety compliance, and high-quality workmanship.

Key Scope Highlights:

  • Demolition & Removal:

    -Removal of ~65 linear feet of damaged support framing and screen wall panels.

  • New Installation:

    -Installation of new light-gauge metal framing to repair the damaged section.

    -Installation of new metal panels to closely match the existing profile and color (acknowledging some variance due to sun fading).

    -Installation of new Z-strip counterflashings and head closures.

    -Installation of new bird spikes to match existing ones.

  • Compliance & Standards:

    -Work conducted during normal business hours (7:00am–4:00pm).

    -Davis-Bacon Wage Scale recognized.

    -Compliance with OSHA, DoD, and local code requirements.

    -Incorporation of RFI #001 (20-MAR-23) clarifications into the scope of work.
